BA degree in German, or native or near native fluency, AND a degree in one of these areas:

Master’s degree or equivalent* in Germanic Literature, Teaching German as a Second/Foreign Language, Comparative Literature (with Germanic Literature as one of the two comparative points), Linguistics (with a thesis on a Germanic subject), Comparative Linguistics (with a thesis on a Germanic subject) or in a related field that encompasses the Germanic language and/or culture.

Related teaching experience at the post-secondary level preferred

Demonstrated ability to collaborate within departmental team to achieve common objectives

Fluency in both English and German

Bilingualism (English/French) and ability to teach in French are preferred, as in the context of Bill 96 and the changes to the Charte de la langue française, if there is a need, the candidate must be willing and able to teach in French.
