JOB SUMMARY: under the general authority of the director of student services and the direct supervision of the COORDINATOR OF STUDENT SERVICES to assist with the operation of the intercollegiate, intramural and recreation programs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and manage team registration for intercollegiate athletes
- Support the day-to-day operational needs of assigned varsity teams (up to 7 teams)
- Attend in-person RSEQ meetings as the substitute delegate, as needed
- Assist with the preparation of special events (Circle of Excellence, Social Justice Committee, championship hosting, awards night, general hosting activities)
- Capture and prepare visual and written content related to varsity activities (photography, video and graphics)
- Promote varsity programs through different dissemination channels (weekly newsletter, various social media platforms, real-time event coverage)
- Manage and update content related to activities on the JAC Sports & Recreation website and portal
- Assist teams with fundraising activities
- Act as on site responsible for evening & weekend home games as assigned
- Work with students and staff to create, implement and maintain intramural and recreation programs
- Participate in the hiring and training of officials for intramural programs
- Participate in department fundraising activities as required
- Purchase of team related clothing and equipment
- Perform other related tasks as they may be assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
College diploma in an appropriate specialty or a diploma or an attestation of studies which is recognized as equivalent by the competent authority
Specific Requirements:
- Ability to organize and coordinate sporting activities
- Knowledge of the RSEQ/CCAA/U-Sports sporting governing bodies, an asset
- Availability to work a flexible schedule according to departmental needs, including evenings and weekends
- Autonomous – able to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Basic knowledge of commonly used software (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word or equivalent)
- Knowledge of tools used to support activity promotion (e.g., image editing, simple graphics, or content posting tools such as Photoshop, Premiere, Canva or equivalent), strong asset
- Ability to relate well to students
- English advanced (oral and written)
- French intermediate (oral and written)
Testing may be required to demonstrate knowledge of:
- Word (basic)
- PowerPoint (basic)
- Excel (basic)
- French (Intermediate oral (comp/prod) & written (prod))
- English (Advanced oral and written)
