JOB SUMMARY: REPORTING TO THE COORDINATOR OF FINANCIAL SERVICES, PROVIDES INTEGRAL SUPPORT WITHIN THE FINANCIAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT IN AREAS OF FINANCIAL ANALYSIS, AND LIAISON WITH STAKEHOLDER INSTITUTIONS FOR ALL RESEARCH AND OTHER GRANTS.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare quarterly financial statement for the “Contrôleur des Finances” (Table de Concordance) and additional information.

Produce and analyze various financial reports for specific allocation grants (FABRES).

Responsible for all research and other grants (set-up budgets and follow actuals as per agreement).

Prepare salary releases expense transfers and follow-up with payroll.

Prepare financial reports to granting institutions.
-
Liaison with grant holders about financial management reports on their projects.
-
Support departments and ancillary services regarding Finance related question.

analyze variances between budget and actuals by departments.
-
Verification of the completeness of the journal entries with numerical sequence and journalize batches in Clara.

Prepare deferred revenue reconciliations in accordance with Public Sector Accounting Standards and the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Higher Education.

Review of completeness and accuracy of operational and capital invoices and backup.

Review monthly reconciliation between general ledger and receivable (aging).
-
Review and coordinate the accounts receivable analysis dossier.

Verifies and act as a back-up support for bank reconciliation reports.

Analyze various accounts and prepare adjusting journal entries quarterly and year-end.

Provide assistance at year-end for various analysis, reconciliations and other documentation required by the external auditors.

Provide assistance on various projects to improve process in Finance

Other related tasks
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
An undergraduate degree in an appropriate field of specialization, particularly:
- Business administration;
- Accounting.
Specific Requirements:
· Minimum of 5 years related experience, an asset
· CPA designation, an asset
· Proven skills in accounting
· Intermediate in French and English – oral and written or bilingualism mandatory
· Excel intermediate.
· Knowledge of accounting software (CLARA system would be an asset)
· Superior inter-personal skills and discretion
· Results oriented self-starter able to work autonomously
· Ability to analyze, interpret and evaluate information and identify solutions
· Experience within the para-public sector is an asset
